Rustic Baby Shower

This past Sunday was a very special celebration. One of my best friends, Amber, is expecting a little boy this Spring, so her mother and I hosted one of her baby showers. Her first shower was a couples shower with a baseball theme. We wanted to capture some of Amber's childhood and some of her current design styles.

We had so much fun getting together to plan this event and special time for Amber. Her mother went to the Orange Circle and hit the antique shops to purchase all the depression glass plates that you see. We stacked different colors and patterned plates at each place setting and paired it with ivory cloth napkins, antique style silverware, mason jars with navy blue stripped paper straws and Lima bean stamped with the baby's name as party favors. The tables were surrounded by shabby chic chairs rented from Found Vintage Rentals.

The center pieces were brown bottles with one simple white Gerber Daisy in each bottle. Amber's mom found these cute little red wagons and filled them with assorted nuts for the guest to snack on when they arrived.

Each guest received a terracotta pot with a cracked brown egg. Each egg had a small Lima bean inside that had baby Owen's name burned into the bean. When the bean sprouts the leaf will have Owen's name on it. This was such a cute way for each guest to remember the celebration.

For Christmas I made Amber these yarn letters for her to place in the Fall colored nursery. I went with the burn orange color to compliment the colors in the bedding and other pieces in the room.

The guest played various games through out the party which will be featured later in the week.

The guest were asked to bring their favorite book from childhood to start baby Owen's library.

Sweetly yours,

  1. I absolutely must know where the burned lima beans came from!
